My understanding is 'when looking down the ramp', left side is launch and right hand side is for retrieval though its okay when there is no traffic to go either side.
I'm currently checking up on the legislation so unsure of the exact letter of law.
Has to be something in place for situations like today.
We were at Crawley Bay ramp and people wouldn't yield going in so you had a bank up of boats wanting to get out whilst being surrounded by moorings and boat docks.
