I have one in my work laptop. Definitely boots faster and such, good for download biggg files across gigabit LAN - Eg, Blu-ray rips and stuff.

There have been people taking out the factory drive out of PS3's and replaying with SSD. There have been mixed reports, depending on the game etc.

And this is a test i did with SSD, file transfers to my NAS.

It's not just the system speed increase, it's the no moving parts, less power consumption, less heat etc .. , albeit at a higher price and smaller capacity. I think most people at the moment as using SSD for their system drive and then having a 2TB SATA disk for example for storage etc.
