The only catch is there's different versions of the 1D, 5D etc, so you have to watch for that also.

I have taken some ripper photos with a point and shoot, some times it's better to keep it simple so you can quickly snap a photo rather than worry about buggering up a number of different settings.

I usually put my DSLR back onto Auto mode after i've been shooting so I can quickly snap something if I need to.
