Personally if I was in your situation I would be looking at the Forrester as a potential car.
Height, safety and a decent amount of easily accessible and usable space is a clear winner.
Once the bub is a bit older, you can throw some gear into the Forrester to get a more sporty/responsive drive
...and do some track days!
