^^^^ Landrover = FAIL!!! Got tired of pulling them out of the shit with broken with broken drivetrains with my Hilux.
I am biased though of course. I have had several toyotas and all have served me well. I have a mate who is a rangie nut and loves them and gets them to go places and not break.
Most off the shelf proper 4WD's (as opposed to SUV's) will get you where you want to go off road these days, some will just do it a little easier. And nothing wrong with an auto for most 4WDing....they do have their advantages.
