Was driving back from Margaret River last Sunday between 4 and 5pm along the Old Coast Road when we hit a traffic jam. After 30 minutes crawling along at 2kmph we get to two policemen who directed us to the other side of the road to head south. No signage, no verbal directions, nadda. So I hit the 'detour' button on the Garmin gps and follow a stream of very annoyed drivers to Johnston Road to join the South Western Highway back to Perth. The Garmin actually took me along a different route altogether and our friends in another car suggested that we follow them as we were obviously going the long/wrong way. Anyway, by the time we had eaten and unpacked it was too late to check out the local news so does anyone know what happened to that stretch of road?
