You sometimes need to run thin washers or shims between the dogbone and the mounting surface on the hub, to get the caliper to centre correctly.. and the cheaper dogbones can sometimes be out of whack.
When I installed my Prodrive brakes, I torqued the dogbones to spec and then used spark plug feeler gauges to make sure the caliper to rotor spacing was identical on each side.
I didn't have to use any of the provided shim washers in the kit, as the caliper to rotor spacing was within .0001 of an inch between sides. Prodrive kwality
