Hey, how's things? Plans for the weekend, we should meet up someday for a coffee session. Was initially ackward with this forum stuff, but have met some very nice ppl including Rossco, Teejay and RoughStilin. Haven't seen JDM Style yet since I came into P.WRX, but from speaking to him, he is a great guy.

To tell the difference, look at where the back housing is bolted to the front housing. Genuine HKS SQV IIIs have linear markings on the connecting point of the front and rear housings. Chinese made copies have linear markings on one side and no markings on the other.

Also, performance on the Chinese copies are bad. I have had customers who wanted a cheap SQV thinking they were cheap and others who bought at slightly less than retail. When we installed them, either they worked for a few weeks and started leaking causing the car to go into limp, while others just caused the car to go into limp mode.

I will get a camera-crazy photographer friend to use his camera to take a close pic when the new stock arrives from Japan. My Sony just isn't cutting it.

Also guys, when you buy Jap branded stuff and are suspicious of their quality and genuinity, ask the retailer to prove this by getting a written statement from their manaufacturer. If I can get it, so can they.
