Default Vipec Tune on WRX with STi block

Hi Guys,

We did another Vi-pec tune today on a 2004 WRX with STi bottom end and only a VF22 turbo, with the usual cooling and breathing mods.

Max power at 291.9hp at 1.3-1.4 bar of boost (as usual, actuator was not holding well). Car came in with a poor Vi-pec tune at 258hp.

Comparing this to the previous tune on this thread, the difference was in the boost and the variance in factory actuator quality.

Below is the graphs from the initial to the final power run. (note we got rid of the flat at 4500rpm from the initial power run shown by the red curve!)




Below is the initial power run with the Vipec already installed and tuned somewhere else. It ran only 258hp with a big flat from wrong boost setting at 4500rpm!:



Below is the result if 291.9hp after we tweaked the ECU:
