the speed camera will only cover lanes heading away from the box, so for example, on the riverside drive one near the bell tower, only vehicles heading west will be done for speeding (so heading towards the narrows bridge / freeway entries) however, if you run the redlight in any direction you will be photographed / filmed.

I heard from someone at work who's friend works for the fines inforcement centre (I know, dr's neighbours sisters dog.. blah blah), that there isn't enough people employed to go through all the footage that is being captured, and that they only have time to look at about 1hrs worth of footage taken per camera per day... That applies for red lights though only I think, speed fines operate the same as a normal speed camera.
