Picture quality is about more than just how many megapixel you have. Sensor and lens quality is paramount.

Having said that both are entry level so I wouldnt be expecting cinema quality.

A good way to describe it .. put two 50 inch screens next to each other - say a 700 dollar Soniq, and a 2000 dollar Sony - they both might sound pretty much the same on paper being 1080 etc etc, but we all know the Sony will shit on it real world picture quality.

5mp I still more than enough to take a pic and print it at a2/1 size so thats not an issue.

I would rather a nicer 5mp lens than a 10mp any day of the week.

The 10 times zoom is one difference that is a win for the Toshiba though. End of the day unless you trialled them back to back it would be hard to pick I dare say. At that price point they will both be aqequate without being outstanding.
