I'll second that. I've been to Batu Ferringhi a couple of times. March will be hot and very humid though.
If you want something a bit more, to impress the GF, stay at the hard rock at Batu Ferringhi or spend even more money and stay at the Westin on Langkawi, another small Malaysian island.
Not much to do on Langkawi expect eat, drink, sleep.
