I know there are places in perth that do plastic "welding" to fix this sort of thing, as
a mate had the same problem you do a few years back.

Might be worth joining a bike forum and asking the exact same question. When you
do post on the bike forum it may also be worth mentioning the type of bike since
not all plastic bits are the same... ie: Some smoke up, burn, and melt from different things.
