If you want to take it to a mechanic, go to bunnings first and get this high temp tape. Its rubber and perfect for closing off small holes on the hoses (temporarily). Its rubber, you stretch it and wrap it around the hose. I carry it in the boot at all times as I had to use it once on the power steering hose.

Otherwise, you could try heating the hose in some hot water so its more flexible.
