Unfortunately most people just see Warner slogging and hitting over the top in International matches and T20's. Not many people see his domestic innings. He has the ability to crash the ball along the ground and those that saw his interview last week on The Cricket Show would know he has a pretty good head on his shoulders and is far more mature in regards to his batting.
Test teams need more batsmen, especially openers that have the ability to score in unconventional areas. It throws off bowling attacks big time. Everyone said the same thing (you're saying) about Michael Slater...
