We've got 2 "massive" step down transformers used to run a Sears Fridge /Freezer pigeon pair. They were simply the bomb compared to what was availed in Perth in 1980.

Heavy as the transformers - cost me a toenail in my youth when I dropped it helping move the freezer. Lucky it wasn't the toe.

110-120 is the US equivalent of our 220-240 voltage tolerance. Nothing strange there.

We still have them somewhere but it would be approx 5 times the size of the Nespresso and too indistrial to sit on a kitchen bench
