This would be the easiest solution IMO.

Going from ios to android takes some getting used to and some people like it, some don't.

If you do want something different, than you could look at the following android phones:
  • HTC Sensation
  • Samsung Galaxy SII
  • Velocity 4G
  • Google Nexus

As Kato mentioned, some phones (well pretty much most modern smart phones) aren't too friendly on the battery straight out of the box and there are solutions (including rooting and running custom roms, Juice Defender and Tasker to limit resources being wasted on the phone, etc).
