Sorry, more off topic.
Theory is incorrect. Using 240V appliance in 110V will not work either. The voltage is too low and the Hz is wrong.

Travel/plug adapters work fine for countries where the voltage is the same or similar volatge & frequency to Aus (240V/50Hz) and the wall plug is different: Eg: Indonesia, NZ and parts of Europe.

Some devices such as laptop power supplies and camera chargers have 100-240V rating and can work across multiple voltages. Some appliances have a switch on the back to change from 110v to 240V. Sensitive equipment such as battery chargers usually are voltage specific.
If travelling o/s, best bet is to check all of the devices you are going to take with you and use Google to find out if compatible with the power in the country you are travelling to.
