As for what intake to buy, I'm an enormous advocate of the AVO ones. Pricey, but the quality is sensational and the silicon is super stiff compared to many others I've seen (ie it won't deflect under vacuum).

Ahhh see that's the kind of feedback I'm looking for.
If these cheap eBayspec items are deflecting "flexing" or anything like that when under vacuum then that would warrant the purchase of a known brand.
My biggest consern on my WRX at the moment is unmetered air getting in via the small crack on my stock intake, I've gone eBayspec in the past and haven't had a problem but were talking $80 vs $150 it's still not a big outlay for a quality silicon intake.
