If all you wanted to do was go play, you could probabaly run at Targa in the "invitational" category where you arent in the main game but get to do the full event at full noise. (Similar to Jamie Lister in my old car last year when it wasnt eligible) Could also go and have a crack at the SE, RAC sprints. Would be a lot of fun.
There are some fun cars in the UK. The Ginetta G50 is pretty cool and reasonably priced. Kit car with a 300 odd HP V6, sequantial and low 900 odd kg weight. Although looking on youtube, most vids seem to involve crashes so i guess they are a handful
