Don't get me wrong guys nothing better than a wood fire in winter but I don't see the need for them in heavily populated suburbs like Carlisle where the smoke hangs like a blanket due to the amount of people using wood fires. I grew up in Dawesville and we had a wood fire, I love visiting my folks in winter but as a person who is highly allergic to household dust mites I need to air the house out daily to reduce the amount of dust mites and it really doesn't help coming home to find the house full of smoke. If they all had extended stacks it wouldn't be an issue.
