yeah the really nice STi belongs to another mate of mine, there are a few interesting cars over here, lots of beemers, volvos, there is even a maserati here. plenty of old mercs and a couple of nice new ones. it's to do with avoiding import duty, if cars stay here for 2 years before they move to the mainland they become exempt from a whole lot of tax. but this island kills cars. not just because of the salt but also the phosphate in the dirt seems to really help corrosion. i have never seen aluminium corrode like it does here. i remember peeling a large aluminium axle nut on a 5 year old motorbike off with my fingernails.

and only the robber crabs are yummy, but they are protected, so no cooking them
