Somewhat agree. We have a full blown citrix farm for several thousand users too, and yes it has it's uses and is pretty nice to have. No way i'd roll this out onto a fleet of iPads though and support hundreds of users on it across Telstra 3G. We only use the citrix farm for a few things, mainly web portal and xenapp.
Would much prefer a Windows device with a 3G VPN, or better yet, Telstra 3G with your own Corporate APN back into the network.
There is a lot of management overhead, licencing, infrastructure and all that stuff with a Citrix farm. It needs a lot of looking after, tuning, monitoring etc.
