Dont know who organised it but Targa Adelaide is the following week.

All the east coast people are doing that as it forms part of the championship that includes targa tas and has demonstrably better roads than here.

Its a shame that the numbers are so low as Bob has gone to a massive amount of effort to rejig the event. The entry fee is down and they have taken out things like the accomodation at Burswood which for locals seemed a bit silly. A lot of the liasion is gone aswell.

IMHO (and I have entered) is that there is 200km competitive and you do almost every stage 2 or 3 times over 4 days. Entry fee is $5k if you dont early bird before the end of May. Targa Tas is 600km over 5 days and is a $6k entry. Not 1 stage is repeated whatsoever. Yes you have to get there and all the rest of it but it puts it into perspective.

I think given that there is only 2 cars coming from the east it is probably as good a field as they could of hoped for. There are a few notable ommissions, Hamilton, Jones, Major, Wilson etc.
