- you can use them above 80km/hr, you just shouldn't "operate" them, ie open or close it. It to stop tiny Japanese hands getting caught.
Personally I've operated mine at 150 mid corner in the wet on a hillclimb because i forgot to open it and my windscreen was fogging up
