area under the curve is simple, the more area under the lines, the more torque and horse power is available accross the rev-range.

aiming for just a peak figure (a dyno-day tune) will usually have less 'area under the curve', vs a high performance more reliable tune.

also agreed, fuel and ignition maps do not correlate against 'area under the curve'.

as boost increases, ignition decreases.

also with motec i2 pro, you can use a derivative function to calculate the applicable area under the curve on your logs too.

remember its a tuning tool, not a bragging statistic.
