That is just a WOT curve. Different scenarios and simulations on the dyno and street tune can differentiate from this curve, for example under different spool conditions. So I could have area above this curve as well. You might see a triangle at WOT -- EDIT: which is not suitable for WOT drag use. On track use, tuning has to account for what throttle and rev range you will be using, while trying to maximise the torque in that area you will be using most.
Agreed: Yes in general refering to area under the curve is driveability. The Dynapack is just a tool that we use to tune the car, after which on road tuning proceeds for driveability -- and yes, lap top is plugged in and tune is further tweaked while driving on road.
