Finally catching up on all thge gossip (and catching up on lost sleep)

Kym, not sure what you mean by coming unstuck on Malaga? We definately did not come unstuck, in fact it's one thing I'm really careful not to do, disrupt the rally by being a dickhead and looping the car or going off the road. We had all the chase shots we needed so the second last run I slowed a little on Crocker drive to recce my exit route for the following run. That next run we exited at turn 11 to set up a camera for the remaining cars. All planned well ahead, phoned the road closure to lift the bunting etc.

Stages like Perth foreshore I drop the camera man off at a location then we did 3 rides. Two were the winners of the 'ride in a rally car' contest, the third was a key sponsor of the event. All three thoroughly enjoyed it. One lady was very nervous, she asked how long I'd been a rally driver, of course I answered with "It's my first day, I saw it on tv, I'm pretty sure I can do it"

I'm sure I saw Franz coming out of the whisper shop with a very large brown paper bag.

The camera is a RadCam, it got raped by rocks, as did both headlights, the bonnet, bumper and widscreen of my 1000km old rally car! But it was worth it.
The camera is off centre so I can try to get out of the direct blast of rocks and sand from sticky race tyres at a range of a few metres. It also allows me to see the road ahead a little bit sometimes! We tried an external Mic, it was useless, there's nothing you can do to get rid of the wind niose other than edit it out (which they will do when they do the full production)

Lastly, I hope no one thinks I was having a go at the driver that went into that tree. I was having a crack at a dude on facebook who was implying the organisers of the rally hadn't done enought to prevent the accident. We never put ourselves in harm's way. There's always an immovable object to shelter behind at every dodgy location.
