I've got a commercial grade Karcher that lasted ~10-12 months of daily abuse before it threw an internal seal (need to make sure the hose doesn't sit in the sun and superheat the water as it'll melt the rubbers!). It's since been fixed but sits the garage for the time being (it's too heavy to constantly chuck in and out of the ute).
Have another smaller Karcher thats been used daily for ~6 months now and is starting to show signs that its about to blow (it's getting noisy/rattles)
I had Couplers make up a custom 10m hose with heavy duty fittings. Best thing for them.. it's been run over several times and has lasted well over 2 years. I consider the machines themselves 'throwaways'.
Ideally something with brass fittings and decent seals are the way to go. Karchers are now cheap and with good reason. In saying that.. my machines cop massive amounts of usage and still last for a decent period!
