The dash mounted Golden Eagle by Kustom Signals is similar to the hand-held radar above, operating on K-band. When the police officer is driving down the road "shooting" at on-coming traffic he is doing it in two ways; "constant on" or "instant on". In constant on, the radar beam is constantly transmitting down the road. When an oncoming car enters the radar's beam, a reflected signal is returned to the gun, and a speed is displayed on the unit.
