The whole Brant alarm system is Subaru cancer. The quality of the product, the connectors used, the install, the fact that they use red wire for earth and run it a metre across the car for no reason, the use of 2mm wire to interrupt a 6mm power feed, the rusty switches are all shit. The whole thing needs to be ripped out with great vengeance and furious anger and thrown in the rubbish bin where it belongs.

Not specific to only the car we are talking about here, but each and every one of them sooner or later will give frustrating faults. If I had to list the top ten things that makes late model Subaru cars unreliable the first nine would be alarm/immobilizer systems.
