What size does it show up in BIOS as?
Some motherboards need a bios update to read the larger volumes.
In Windows click start and type
Create and format hard disk partitions, find the drive and see if there is any unformatted or unused space allocated to it.
Can also try downloading
Gparted and booting off it to inspect the partitions of the drive and if they are currently formatted or unformatted.
