raising the roof or ceiling (i think this is what you really mean?) is going to be costly, bricking in your carport is not, you will need new footings for the new walls tied into your existing carport (brick?) pier footings, you also need to tie the new brickwork into existing piers (say at 4 course vert centres), then just build up to the underside of the existing ceiling, easy as, if you have a mate thats a bricky they should be able to do it really easily
