the reason I want to replace the filter is because they are in the fender and I have no idea how to take it out and clean it. I am sure it is serviceable as I think it is a K&N wet filter, but I dont have the tools or confidence in taking it out.
You think I should just replace the cat?
hrm, I am pretty sure the 100k service has been done as my mechanic told me the timing belt doesn't look worn. reason I am worried is i just don't know what the previous owners did. Also I have difficulties shifting into second gear from third and the car shudder alot at very low speed.

You can remove the inner guard to give you access to the pod. Just have to remove the stupid plastic clips.
