I thought I would put together a small DIY project for those that are interested in gardening......
Are your sprinklers to low in the turf? Are they being blocked out by plants? Are they not quite in the corner of the turf leaving you with a small dead patch? Do you want more water efficient nozzles?
Well there are options.
1) Replace the sprinklers with ones that have a longer shaft. Bunnings et al specialise in 2" pop ups however they come in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12". The difference in price between a 2" and 4" is <$1.
I prefer the Toro sprinklers myself.
2) Rather than having the stupid little 15mm black poly nipples that break every time you look at them in a commercial environment we use ez elbows and funny pipe. There is no gluing involved in changing over.
This is how it ends up looking.
It also means you can easily adjust the height and put the sprinkler wherever you like in a corner etc.
3) Do you have the old school nozzles that have been the same for 30 years? There are some cool new options out now. We use a lot of these mp-rotator nozzles.
Basically the normal nozzles let out a lot of water quickly which leads to run off. Also the droplets are small and more susceptible to wind drift. These nozzles don't let out as much water and the droplets are much bigger. They look cool to.
We can supply all of the above far cheaper than Bunning or Total Eden et al can.
