Kinda. He is saying that by using LC and having boost/torque off the line helps spin the wheels and take stress of the drivetrain than just revving and building boost from the line which puts a fuck load more stress on the flywheel.
As for the clunking. When i launched my car at 5.5k once i also noticed the clunks. I assumed it was something to do with the centre diff as it was in auto.
