My friend, I am obviously not a politician/macro/micro economist and even so for such an answer to be made it wouldn't exactly be short.
GTBL makes a valid point with less government overhead I would also add more spending on education/and increasing the tax free threshold for low income earners.
Your efforts speak for themselves but would you think that maybe 'besides your upbringing', your parents ability to afford a decent education for you and disposable income played a part in your outlook on life/success?
Before everyone goes down the increasing an individuals/household spending opportunities can have downsides route yes its possible, and yes its impossible to put a plan in place to suite everyone.
