I think you'll find that as long as the head of the sensor is flush with the pipework and not in direct heat, it won't be too big a problem, but someone will probably correct me on that. I have my wideband o2 sensor on my dump pipe, no more than 10 inches from the back of the turbo, but there aren't really any other options in my case.
