Good purchase JP, I have always had a soft-spot for the peanut sti, especially in black! My main tip would be to leave the car as is for at least a few months (maybe longer seeing as you came from an accent ) just to get a proper feel for it and how to drive it etc before you start looking at modding it (if you go down that path).
There is a cruise on the 8th of March, which would be a great way to meet people and enjoy driving your car spiritedly at the same time. Enjoy and try not let the keyboard warriors get to you, it's your car so do with it as you please
