No coolant does any good after leaking out.

You can take some precautions by checking the reputation of the brand, the condition of the item such as state of welding or damage if any. If you take a chance with a cheapy, keep an eye out for leaks, and above all, carefully monitor coolant temperature. If any doubts, install another temperature gauge.
