Venting to atmosphere in a closed vacuum system isn't recommended from what I read and also would result in oil all over your engine bay, and blocking off PCV no way, as that's bringing in positive pressure issues in the crankcase etc etc..

WRONG you can remove the pcv and block off the hole . The crank case and heads vent still into the intake if you have a catch can in line with the intake and venting to atmosphere , the oil will be in the catch can not the engine bay or intake. If you haven't bought a cheap ass catch can that is .
