For those that are interested it was a great day once we got going. The first 6 laps were behind a pace car, at steadily increasing speeds, which gives you a chance to get used to the feel of the car and the odd feeling of the small gear stick on the right side which has a very short throw and can be difficult to find a gear at times. They set out cones and recommended markers around and on the track. I guess they have to cater for everyone and it doesn't really impede on what you are doing.

First video is of our first time out on our own, 2nd run of 6 laps, with no real restrictions apart from you can only overtake on the downhill and main straight and not going into corners. These cars are great fun to drive and I had a ball on this run. With 4 of us out on the track at a time we were sent out at intervals and I caught and overtook all of them

Second video is of my fastest laps of the day, 3rd run of 6 laps, what they call the qualifying round. If only I drove like this on my last run in the "race round". I tried a bit to hard then and made a few little mistakes which cost me time on my laps. As the results in the last round of 6 laps are done on the fastest average lap time on the "race round" laps, it wasnt as good as it could have been. Ended up 4th fastest for the day though which was ok.

Go and do this. It is a great day and awesome fun.
