Whenever cleaning any maf sensors I have always opted to just use brake/carby cleaner. There is proper stuff to clean them but I don't think its a necessity.

I would also recommend not touching the wires either. They clean up alright without having to use cotton buds. New ones were around $500 last time I inquired.
