When you say circlip are you just referring to clocking the compressor housing around or something else?

When I had the compressor inlet cut down I unscrewed about 6 bolts that were in pairs with plates between them that held the front housing to the cartridge core. It is easy to spin it around so long as the actuator is within its range of movement.
