Measure the rods they should be 130.5mm from the centre of the big end journal to the centre of the little end journal. If they are any longer than that then there's your issue.
Cheers for all the info so far I was pretty certain that the Pistons themselves were not the issue!

I'll have to have a look when I get back from work then, if it's not the rods then the shaved blocks would be the next obvious thing!
