Default Cars of Bendix – July EOMM

And the freezing weather continues into July’s EOMM! This month’s End of Month Meet was off to a relatively slow start but as the night went on, more and more cars packed the grounds of Sydney Dragway, bringing us an impressive showcase of the cars that make up Sydney’s booming car scene.

Here are our picks for the Cars of Bendix at the July EOMM!

Opening this month’s Cars of Bendix is Jayden’s R34 Nissan Skyline 25GT! There’s no denying how popular the R34 Skyline is as a platform for modification with the abundance of aftermarket support available for it. Jayden’s gone above and beyond in making his Skyline look just the way he wants it to with a set of aftermarket side skirts and rear pods, a GT-R Z-Tune front bar, GT-R front guards, a set of Work Emotion CR Ultimate rims and to round it off, those custom JDM plates.

The Datsun 1600 is a beloved classic the world over and it’s easy to see why. With its timeless boxy styling, legendary racing pedigree and the million and one ways in which they can be modified, there’s really no questioning why these fantastic little cars have the cult following that they do. This particular 1600 kept it simple and had character aplenty with its beautiful burgundy paint, some light patina and a nice set of SSR MK3s.

Not seen very often at all, the Daihatsu Copen is an example of the rare instance in which a kei car designed for the city streets of Japan is released into the Australian market. As denoted by those clever JDM plates, the Copen is powered by a 660cc four banger with a turbocharger strapped to it, enough to generate 50kW and 100Nm which is sure to be a hoot in such a small car. Such a zippy little car is sure to be a whole lot of fun on the track, something that our friend Carl, the owner of this tidy little kei car, knows quite well!

The HSV VL Commodore SS Group A Walkinshaw, otherwise known as the ‘Walky’, has a special place in the hearts of Holden fans everywhere. Devised as a Group A homologation, the ‘Walky’ is one of the most desirable and outrageous (just look at that rear wing and hood cowl!) cars to ever be built here in Australia. Being such an iconic Aussie muscle car, it was definitely a treat to see one turn up here at End of Month Meet! Not satisfied with just the outrageous styling cues, the owner of this beast has added a staggered set of Simmons FR wheels to help it stand out even more!

Wrapping up our coverage of July’s EOMM is Adam’s LZYBOY 2006 Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec.B Blitzen wagon! Being a special-edition Blitzen model, they’re a relatively rare find and come factory equipped with a Blitzen-exclusive body kit, meaning not much has to be done to make it stand out amongst the pack. Adam’s gone that extra step further, treating his Liberty to a healthy drop and a beautiful set of Work Emotion CR 2P rims.
