Looking at the way we as a society currently chew through cars. By 2050, 90% will be without engine because of that. We are a throw away society, when a car gets 10-15yrs old its considered an old obsoleted POS. Look at something like a VT commo. They were as common as mud when released. Now you dont even really see them that much. And they are only 17 odd years old now.
Maybe if people were serious about emmissions, they would look at how much energy and such goes into pumping out throw away consumer goods for example. Most people wont renew a car every year, but they will sure as hell make sure they have the next i-galaxy every year.
