Best advice there. Also very cheap to mod if u want to push it a bit but not too much. Zorst, Tune (Verso), if u wanna spend a bit more, port and coat the turbo headers and dump. I'm looking at doing this with my new car, buy a great base platform and just throw a zorst on then crank up the boost

There is quite a large difference between the later model wrx and STi's IMO.
The 2002 STi is a much better base to start with (brembos, ej207, 6 speed etc) if you're going to modify, or if you're more interested in performance / motorsport over daily driving tasks. The STi's also generally have better resale.
