Apexi PFC controlled FJ208
Hi guys I just got my hands on a apexi power fc and I'm tryna get it to work with my single turbo converted 2000 blitzen. Has anyone done this before with a 3rd Gen Legacy or b4?
I've gotta ej208 in it and I have the matching 3plug ecu witch is the same as the version 5/6 wrx/sti. Are the pin outs the same? I heard that if its not a sti you have to change over the crank and cam sensors. Is this the same with a b4.. Any help would be very much appreciated. |

If the two triggers are backwards, it just wont run, but wont damage anything.
So you can try and start it without concern. It's a 5 min job to swap them over at the ECU. They're right next to each other on the same plug. Takes longer to pull all the covers off. It is a bit of an art to de-pin the ecu plugs, and easy to mangle one. A lot of people just cut the wires 50mm down and solder. I can't help with the other compatibility questions but.

Hey hurtenstein thanks for your reply. When you say triggers do you mean the cam and crank sensors? If so Im swapping over 2 plugs/ 4 wires is that right? Is there anything else that needs changing? My ej208 is the same compression as a ej205. 99/2000 wrx

Yeah, Crank Trigger/Sensor and Cam Trigger/Sensor.
They're both 2 wire units, BUT they share a common ground pin from the ECU, so that doesn't have to be touched. The red and white cores on the top row of the plug. Pins 5 and 6, working from right to left. This is from my 3 plug GC8 ECU, which you're saying is the same as your liberty. All diagrams refer to them as B134 (Black) B135 (grey) and B136 (blue). Like I said, a neater job is to remove the pins and swap, but a more common way is to cut back down the loom, cross over and rejoin.

That's a photo of my ecu plugs bellow. There is a blue plug with red n white pins 5&6.
So what does swapping these over accually do bro? Obviously it doesn't change the compression to that of the ej207. Is the cam and crank sensors on the 207 around the other way to the ej205? N that's why I needa swap the the same to be able to use the PFC? just so I'm on the right page with this before I go ahead and do it. Lol. |

Yours are already swapped from factory. 99% chance it'll run.
Mine is an Aus delivered model with an immobiliser. These are the models that needed swapping. Being in NZ, yours is most likely a Jap import? PowerFCs were built as a straight plug in for them. For some reason, the 2 factory ECUS have the inputs swapped. It has zero to do with the engine. They're wired the same.

Okay so i just looked into it more and in my wiring diagrams it's has my cam and crank sensors on the middle plug out of the 3. I thought it was to good to be true.. I've seen another post in another forum saying the wires for a non imob ecu.. So I might look into that further before I do any cutting. Lol.
