BALISTC's Big Brake Bonanza

As my car wasn't originally an STi, it didn't originally come fitted with Brembos.
The Subaru 4 pots were of course, just fine, but after everything else on the car has been fettled in some way or another, they just weren't cutting it anymore.
Keeping this in mind, I've been on the look out for some big brakes, for quite a while. The main factor was the price... brakes are usually VERY expensive. Brembo's were out of the question, because they wouldn't fit behind my bling rims (race style rims with large offset required), and besides.. I wanted something different!
My favourite brakes (apart from the AP Racing 6 piston brakes as seen on the original EXPLICIT), have always been the Prodrive Alcon 4 piston big brake kit. They look great, and they are high quality.
These are actually a dealer fitted option in some countries. This also means that they are meant to fit perfectly, and also means the price tag is a bit of a joke... $3000+ USD for the kit!
A few years of searching netted me the exact kit I wanted, at the right price... KNS Brakes, a NASIOC vendor, bought 12 sets of Prodrive Alcons and had them on sale for $1499 USD a set!! A few emails later, (and a very helpful exchange rate), and I had the brakes landed for well under $2k AUD!!!
My dream brakes had finally arrived.
Prodrive Alcon Type-B Calipers
Grooved Alcon 1 piece rotors
Chunky brackets
Prodrive pads
The whole kit
